Certification Requirements:

Certifying Senior Instructor Certification applications are due no later than October 31st of each year. Certification status will be communicated to the Instructor Candidate by November 30th, and, pending Certification approval, will be posted to the ChiLiving website by January 1st.

  • Submit Application to ChiLiving, Inc. for Evaluation and Approval*
    • Applicants will be evaluated on teaching experience, proven business success, and commitment and growth with ChiLiving (such as assisting Danny Dreyer at workshops, see application for details)
    • Applicants must submit two videos to ChiLiving® for review and evaluation.
    • The first video should include shots of the Instructor’s running form from both sides, the front and back. The second video should be recorded in a system similar to Coaches Eye, with the same parameters as the first video, but should include the applying Instructor’s self- evaluation, as well.

Reminder of the video criteria:

Applicants must submit two (2) videos to ChiLiving® for review and evaluation. The Instructor should shoot a technique video of themselves (left-side, right-side, front, rear views and done in Coach’s Eye or some comparable). This will be the first of the two videosIn the second video you will do a nit-picky review going over EVERY little detail of what you’re seeing that is less than optimal. You should give the feedback via a Coach’s Eye type program as if you were coaching a client. Danny wants to hear what language you use; how you offer advice; and how accurate and complete that advice is. So, 2 total videos: one that is clean, with no feedback, and one in Coach’s Eye (or an equivalent) that has your critique included in the video.
  • Participation as a Certified Instructor for a minimum of eighteen months and show proven success as an Instructor (ex. Number of clients taught, number of workshops held, etc.)
  • Assist at a minimum of two workshops with Danny Dreyer or Certifying Master Instructor to Certify an Instructor Candidate and/or Recertify Certified Instructors -OR- Assist a Certifying Master Instructor in a minimum of one Instructor Training (Assisting with Danny, or a Master Instructor, frequently has proven to be the best way to improve as an Instructor.)
  • 4 Hours of ChiRunning Video Analysis of Instructor Candidates (as needed)
  • Actively participate in ChiLiving blogs, social media, bulletin boards, and/or articles

Financial compensation for completing the above requirements will not be provided. These requirements support the development of Instructors for the next Level of their Certification.

If these requirements coincide with the year of your Recertification, you can use one workshop and/or Instructor Training to complete both Certifying Senior Instructor Certification and your Recertification requirements. If it is not a Recertifying year for you, there may be a fee assessed for you to be evaluated as a Senior Instructor at a workshop.

Recertification Requirements:

To maintain status as a Certifying Senior Instructor, the Instructor must complete the following each year:
