No more pain after a year of suffering

« Go Back

For years I have been visiting chiropractors, ART technicians, massage therapists, etc and one thing that you said yesterday really hit home: That these practitioners should help improve the quality of life,  instead of trying to “fix” symptoms that keep recurring, without getting to the root cause. I think that somehow I’ve known this, because all along I’ve known that I rely on my massage therapist to keep me together, only to go out the very next day and undo all the hard work to try and relax my muscles.

This is the first time that I’ve really had someone break it down and explain the impact that simple body mechanics can have on injury. Not only that, but to show me how to fix the things I’m doing that are detrimental to running injury free. I was pleased that I could run 100% pain free yesterday through our exercises. For the past year I have not had one run where I have been able to go out without pain. It’s led to the dread of workouts and frustration with my performance.

I know that I have a ton of work ahead of me and my goal at this point is to try and become a healthy runner so that I can once again enjoy running. I’m encouraged to know that I can use this method to run for a long time. For a while I had begun to think that long distance running was really bad for people, from my own experience and was ready to think about giving it up for other things. Unfortunately, I’m not a big fan of the pool, bike, or indoor exercise equipment, so I kept literally pounding the road.

Thank you so much again for sharing your knowledge with me and the rest of the group.

Sincerely,
Cinda
