ChiRunning Brings back the Joy
I am a 21-year old college student starting my fourth year. My first year of college I ran for Southwest Missouri State University but quit after that year. Throughout high school I was a competitive middle distance runner, splitting times of 50.1 (400m), 1:55 (800m), 4:23 (mile) and 5k of 16:01.
Many times I got injured or really sick from my running, never going over 60 miles/week. After quitting college running I’ve stopped running altogether for the last 2 years. Recently, I’ve gotten a desire back to compete. I’m going to college to be a high school history teacher and coach xc/track. So, naturally I tried to go back out and run. Starting off it was little bit tough, but I expected it.
Since Dec. of this year I have been on and off but have finally been committed to it again, thanks to your book ChiRunning. I am only half way through and can already tell a huge difference in my running and the way I feel overall. I am going to continue reading, learning and running. And, when I’m ready, get into a local 5k to test this out on a timed course.
I have been spreading the word to some friends and they have agreed to check it out. Once again thank you for writing this book.
