Listen, I know its really early in the process but I have to tell you
this. I picked up your book recently while on vacation in Stowe Vermont
and read it through in its entirety in two days. I am 50 years old and
have run recreationally for 15 years now, simply to try and manage my
weight. I go a mile and a half or two miles 3 or 4 times a week. Very
slowly! My first attempt at ChiRunning was unforgettable. I used 3
focuses: lean forward, lift my feet, 90% elbow swing. Not only was I
able to run 3 miles almost without effort but my 2 mile time was a full
2 minutes faster than my average 2 mile times over the past year. And
the best part was the total lack of pain after my run. No pain!!! No
pain in my knees, no pain in my calves. The following morning I felt a
slight tightening of my abdominals
(as you suggested I might) However, I reached my same heart rate max and but recovered in half the time.
