Herbalist/Acupuncturist experiences success with ChiWalking technique – no hip pain!

I’m an acupuncturist and herbalist who specializes in sports injuries. I frequently see people returning to running or beginning running for the first time in their lives. They are at great risk for misalignment leading to injuries. The ChiRunning application of T’ai Chi to sports movement is ideal for optimizing athletic performance while promoting a safe and injury-free experience.

Having returned to running this year, I myself experienced some left hip bursitis for the first time in my life. I took one ChiRunning workshop with Hazel Wood (Certified Instructor; www.stridebystride.com) and following it I have had ZERO problems or pain in my hip! I discovered that I was imparting torque to my left hip when my arms were crossing the mid line. Focusing on pulling my arms straight back has made all the difference. Using the metronome helped immensely too.
