2011 ChiRunning & ChiWalking Survey, conducted by West Virginia
University in conjunction with Dr. Mark Cucuzzella, MD, FAAFP

92% feel ChiRunning / ChiWalking has played a role in preventing running/
walking injuries
97% said they were probably/definitely able to change their running/walking
mechanics with ChiRunning / ChiWalking
69% felt they were a heel striker before practicing ChiRunning
84% felt they were not after practicing ChiRunning
44% said their perceived exertion/discomfort while running was very hard or
hard before practicing ChiRunning
7% said it was hard or very hard after practicing ChiRunning
51% said they were able to make noticeable corrections in less than a month, 24% immediately
74% felt their speed improved with Chi Running
91% said they would recommend Chi Running to other runners

Total number of participants surveyed via email: 35,000. Total respondents:
3,800. Survey did not include non-ChiRunning/ChiWalking participants.
Participants surveyed were subscribers to the ChiLiving e-newsletter.
