A Success Story from a New Instructor

« Go Back

This was sent in an email to us from one of our new instructors, Ryan Miller, who is based in the Boston area. He’s a great instructor and this experience proves it!

“Hi Everyone,

I would like to thank all of you for helping me get to where I am right now. Yesterday I had a truly remarkable experience. My first client, Stacey, attempted the Boston Marathon. She decided to do the race when her boyfriend found out he had cancer. They both decided to run the race to raise money for this cause. She began training in November and hurt her calf muscle. In January she contacted me and we had about 6 sessions together in preparation for the marathon.

Stacey is a 36 year old mother of two. She was not a runner before this. Due to her hectic schedule she was only able to run about 30 miles a week.

Yesterday was the big day. I ran from mile 8 to mile 20 with her. This was an experience I cannot put into words. She completed the entire marathon in 4:51. She did not have to stop once. We were able to have a conversation the entire time I was running with her including our way up “heartbreak hill”. She handled heartbreak hill wonderfully and told me she was happy for the chance to rest her legs!! She finished the marathon with NO INJURY AND NO PAIN.

She was ecstatic after the race and said it was one of the best experiences of her life.

I hope you are all well and once again thank you for all of your guidance and support. It is very much appreciated.

Warm wishes,
Ryan”
