First Marathon at age 63 with Chi Running!
After 4 decades of recreational running distances from 5K to half marathon with a heel strike, I began in November, 2009 to study Chi Running due to increasing recovery times from runs and chronic fatigue as well as sore ham strings. After months of work with Chi Running, I signed up for the Des Moines Marathon and worked with the 20 week Chi Running "Intermediate" Marathon manual. At 63, on 10/17/2010, I finished my first ever marathon in the Boston Marathon qualifying time of 3:45:39 -- and I felt great afterward!!!
At 63, this old runner is of the firm conviction that Chi Running is the best running technique he has ever seen.
