Beginner Runner Stays Pain-free with ChiRunning
I just wanted to thank you for this book. If it wasn't for this book I wouldn't be where I am today in my running! I would have never considered myself a runner (or even wanting to be a runner) back in May of this year.
I decided it was time for a lifestyle change and started the Couch to 5K program. I quickly started to wonder if there was a better way to run so that it didn't hurt so much. As soon as I Googled that question, your site and info about ChiRunning popped up. I began to read more and dig deeper into what people were saying about ChiRunning and it all made sense!
I stopped the Couch to 5K program and ordered your book to begin my running program. The book made so much sense to me. I couldn't stop reading and couldn't wait to start implementing some of the steps into my running, and then I saw that there was the ChiRunning app! Double score for me!
I kept reading the book and started putting the techniques in play. I was amazed at how easy it felt to run. No pain anywhere! The app was also a great motivator and offered me some personal coaching. The metronome has been the best part of the app. It makes me focus on keeping my cadence where it needs to be, and that keeps me injury-free! I use the metronome all the time now to continue to help me keep my form. I also love the videos in the app for helping me remember what I should be doing during my runs.
I have to also report that I am now up to 7 miles 3-4 days per week and have remained injury-free! I'm not pushing it too terribly hard, but have been thinking I might want to try a half marathon next fall.
I also want to attend a training session with a ChiRunning Instructor some day. I live in Greensboro and have been checking the website for sessions in the state so that I can get some official instruction.
I am so happy to have come across the book and information. I love it and I'm looking forward to my future as a runner!
