Vice President of Business Development & Operations for ChiLiving, Inc.The Company:ChiLiving was founded in 1999 by Katherine and Danny Dreyer, and incorporated in September, 2003. ChiLiving, Inc. is parent company to ChiWalking® and ChiRunning®. ChiRunning and ChiWalking incorporate the principles of T’ai Chi – an ancient martial art known across the world for creating balance, strength, and improved cognition. The ChiRunning® and ChiWalking® techniques have been featured in USA Today, Prevention Magazine, AARP Magazine and dozens of publications worldwide. The methods are considered “a revolution” in the biomechanics of body movement.
ChiLiving’s products include workshops, books, DVD’s and accessories. ChiLiving’s resources include information about fitness, diet and lifestyle choices people can make to live richer, more fulfilling lives. ChiLiving is based in Asheville, North Carolina, and has a staff of four. The Vice President of Business Development and Operations will enter the company at a time of tremendous growth and potential.
The Position:The Vice President of Business Development & Operations (VP BD&O) will provide direction and guidance to the operational activities of the company with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability as well as day-to-day leadership and management of operations.
Principle Duties:
- Direct short-term and long-range planning and budget development in support of strategic business goals.
- In conjunction with the management team, establish performance goals, allocate resources, and assess on-going progress.
- Develop and implement a sales strategy to open the retail channel for ChiLiving’s products.
- Work with CEO and web developer to re-vamp and launch the company’s website, developing a creative and robust tool, which is easy to navigate and includes a virtual offering of the products and services.
- Lead business strategies for expanding the sales of products and services, including new product development launches as well as enhancing sales of current products and services.
- In conjunction with the CEO, oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring high levels of professionalism, customer service and product integrity at all times.
- Nurture positive and fulfilling relationships with all staff members, providing high-level staff management and guidance.
- Use financial analysis and metrics to plan for and measure growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; preferably Business Administration. MBA a plus, experience preferred.
- Demonstrated managerial, operation, and financial experience.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully integrating marketing and sales strategies to promote and increase sales of a product or service.
- Microsoft Office Suite proficient. Excel skills must be very strong.
- Business experience with International Markets would be a plus.
- Strong and proven oral and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
Compensation:An attractive compensation package including base and bonus will be crafted for the individual. Relocation stipend will be considered.
