I'm writing today to express many thanks and much praise for Danny's work and the principles of ChiRunning.
I am a Certified Athletic Trainer and have worked for over 13 years providing emergency medical and orthopedic injury care to collegiate athletes. I am also a recreational cross trainer who loves kayaking, biking, yoga, swimming and running.
Three years ago I was forced to give up running because of unrelenting pain in my feet [ Read More ] |

I just finished the Houston Chevron Marathon, my first ever at 49, in 5 hours and 7 mins! It was an awesome experience. I wanted to thank you for the book and video. Danny, your tips and advice was invaluable. I hope to run more marathons, from the “core” in the future. Thanks again - You all are great! |

Just got your book and tried ChiRunning. I've never been much of a runner and mostly avoided it. I am totally a beginner runner. I'm running because of anxiety and stress. My goal is a dualathon in March - run 2 miles, bike 16 miles, run 2 miles. I started a run of 1.64 miles. I can run about half and walk half. I ran twice on my own and felt [ Read More ] |

I spent the last 2 years doing spring triathlons, and worked up to the LA Triathlon this year, .9 mile swim, 25 mile bike, 10k run. Running has always been my weakness, and by that I mean I couldn't even finish the 5k runs at the end of the sprints without walking two to three times. And I'm lucky to finish a 10k in one hour. This has [ Read More ] |

I had a sprained calf muscle in September and couldn’t run for about six weeks (it could have been three weeks, but I started physical therapy late). This destroyed my plans for running the Chicago marathon in October.
Fortunately, one of my sisters sent me some information about a ChiRunning workshop heading to Atlanta in October. I figured that I would have to start my training program all over [ Read More ] |

I started the ChiRunning formula after receiving the book from my very caring Mother-in-Law, Ann. I have had so many knee problems since the age of 25 (I am now twenty eight), and was told by many doctors that I should never run again.
As someone who had played a lot of sports, especially rugby, and loved the feeling of running, I became more affected by the thoughts of never running again. As [ Read More ] |

Hi Danny, I'm sure by now you have taught many workshops, and taught many people...some you've helped and heard from .... and some you've helped and never heard back from. I attended the workshop in Houston in October 2005, and wanted to let you know what a difference you have made in my life....SINCERELY! I experienced a terrible stress fracture April 26th, 2005. My doctor recommended your book, which I picked up and couldn't put [ Read More ] |

Hello to everyone there at ChiLiving! And my profound thanks to Danny for making the ChiRunning accessible to me. I only recently discovered ChiRunning when I found your website during lunch break at work one day. Then I remembered having seen the book at Barnes & Noble. So I went and got the book and started doing the exercises. I go for 10 minutes, 3 x a day while at work....get posture straight, "step over [ Read More ] |

Enjoyed the workshop Danny; you are a very good teacher. I have a degree in philosophy and psychology and my study has always been in Zen, Taoism, etc. I always thought there had to be a way to approach my running as more than just running. When you said it should be a *practice* it was a zen moment for me and has turned my life around. At 61, [ Read More ] |

I am a rheumatologist in private practice in Bethesda, Maryland, and have just learned ChiRunning from Danny Dreyer's wonderful DVD. Thank you for a helpful and interesting book. I've tabbed it, pulled in the audio CD, the DVD, and the metronome as well as a kitchen timer, and ipod for help with this adventure. I was given the Chi Running book by a friend about three months into training for my first marathon. I have to admit, I was worried about making major changes so close to my race date, but I started incorporating the ChiRunning principles into my workouts. To my astonishment, I ran a 3:45 (shaving 15 minutes off of my half-marathon time!). Not only that, but I felt great [ Read More ] |

Three years ago my Orthapaedic physician told me I could continue to run but would only damage my knees further, and that I would never enjoy running again--only a runner knows what that means, so hard to accept such a loss. Tonight I ran with your technique, pain-free, and I'm on top of the world. Thank you seems too small to express my happiness, but it will have to do.

I have been a skeptic my entire life in all areas: business models, exercise plans, diets, philosophy, etc. But, after reading through your book, ChiRunning, and practicing these techniques, I feel as though I owe everyone I meet a chance to try ChiRunning. Thank you for bringing this form to light. I am 40 years old, have been running on and off for about 8 years and have never been so comfortable as I am now. As an avid NPR listener I was delighted to hear the tail end of a story on running. After hearing that story I headed to NPR’s website and began to investigate ChiRunning. At 45 years old I have decided to take my on and off again fitness running to a new level and try to run a marathon.

I attended your 1 day Chi Running seminar this past June in Seattle. Before being diagnosed with advanced breast cancer last July I was a highly competitive triathlete. Just a quick note to say “thanks so much” – the workshop was an absolute delight on every level, and hugely enjoyed. I took up running quite late (mid 30s) and to my surprise turned out to be pretty good at it (I'd never considered myself athletic). I improved to decent club runner status in my late 30s, then I seemed to plateau, I assumed as a result of aging. I also noticed I was getting injured more often, and this was disrupting my preparation for my specialty events (marathons).

I haven't been running for very long - I only started jogging on a treadmill in February 2009 and only at 9 kph for short intervals. Dear Katherine and Danny,
I am 59 years old and 230#, and I have spent the last 30 years trying to run--even small amounts. But I inevitably (usually quickly) re-injured my calf muscles (you probably already know what's coming). Then I would have to lay off for quite awhile. Then I'd go back and do the same thing. I have begun implementing some of the techniques of ChiRunning to my walking, and found it extremely beneficial.
