A Healthful Elixir

The moment you feel like you may be getting sick, brew this elixir and drink it 2-3 times a day. The mixture of antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal ingredients will protect you from a full-blown illness. 

Ingredients Amount
Water 5 cups
Lemon Three slices
Ginger 1 tsp., grated
Garlic 1 clove, minced
Cayenne pepper 1/4 tsp.
Honey To taste

Directions

 

Simmer three lemon slices, one teaspoon freshly grated ginger, one clove freshly minced garlic, and one quarter teaspoon cayenne pepper in five cups water until the lemons are soft and pale. Strain a portion into a mug and add honey by tablespoons until you can tolerate the taste.

I wanted to take a minute to thank Danny and everyone involved at Chi Running. On January 1st 2010 I limped off the Buckeye Trail in NE Ohio with another pulled calf muscle, I have to admit I was done running.
