ChiWalking blends principles of T’ai Chi with walking to create an exercise practice that nourishes and invigorates the body, mind and spirit.

More people walk for their exercise than any other sport. When combined with T’ai Chi, walking becomes a place to build Chi, clear and focus your mind, exercise and listen to your body and enliven the spirit.

Walking is often used as a meditative and reflective activity. When one is upset, or needs time to ponder a difficult question, the movement of walking acts as both a balm and an energizer, calming the nerves and lifting the spirits. When combined with the focuses of T’ai Chi, walking can truly carry us to a renewed and refreshed outlook on life.

ChiWalking focuses first on the correct bio-mechanics of walking including good posture and the practice of deep relaxation through movement. Throughout, you are learning to move from your center, from your core muscles. When your core muscles and your center are toned and strong, the rest of your body can do it’s job of relaxing and letting energy flow in and out, with the flow of your breath and the rhythm of your steps.
