Running into 2012

Posted by Michelle Muldoon on Mon Jan 9th, 2012, 2 comments

2012 is a big year for London with the Olympics being held here.  It’s fair to say that most of us are pretty excited about it!  I’m excited about my running too and filled with optimism for the coming year.  I've had a great start to 2012 with no real setbacks since starting heart rate training in November and have continued to run more and more through Christmas and the New Year...

Running: The Next Phase

Posted by Michelle Muldoon on Mon Nov 28th, 2011, 2 comments

I have recently come back from Asheville, North Carolina, where I had the pleasure of spending 4 days with Danny Dreyer and 50+ Chi Running Instructors at our bi-annual instructor weekend. It’s always a golden time. I am constantly amazed at the effect Chi Running can have on running and the quality of life experience of those who choose to take this path...

Running: Going Back to Basics

Posted by Michelle Muldoon on Mon Sep 26th, 2011, 4 comments

Poor mechanics and foot function have in the past meant that running was not something I seemed born to do. Fortunately, through practising Chi Running this turned out not to be the case...

Running and Non-identification

Posted by Michelle Muldoon on Tue Mar 1st, 2011, 11 comments

I’m a bit late in blogging about my Half Marathon but half term got in the way!  If you read my blog you will know that I have been following the Chi Running Intermediate Half Marathon Training Program.  Training had gone pretty well and I lined up at the start line on Sunday 20 February feeling pretty relaxed apart from the normal pre-race jitters with approximately 8,000 other runners...

Running: A Gradual Process

Posted by Michelle Muldoon on Mon Feb 14th, 2011, 0 comments

It’s already week 12 of Half Marathon Training and Sunday is race day!  This week will be less about running and more about tapering down, resting and relaxing as much as possible. Training has gone extremely well. Apart from illness in the early weeks and some drama over Christmas, training has been consistent since then. ...

Running Intervals

I am happy to say that I have had another excellent weeks running for week 7 of Half Marathon training which included a 5k race, the first 5k I've run in 4 years! It's nice to dip my toe in the water and I shall run more of them this year to see where I am with my training...

Getting Running back on Track

Posted by Michelle Muldoon on Wed Jan 12th, 2011, 0 comments

Thankfully week 6 of half marathon training has gone better than all the others! Still missed one run due to travelling but on the whole it’s been a very good week and I am optimistic ...

Running into the New Year

Posted by Michelle Muldoon on Wed Jan 5th, 2011, 0 comments

In theory this is week 6 of half marathon training. As always seems to be the case when I try and train for a race, life events try to stop me. And so it has proved again. As mentioned in my last blog, early training came to a standstill when I got full blown flu ...

Running in Winter

Posted by Michelle Muldoon on Thu Dec 9th, 2010, 0 comments

I had hoped to blog about the start of my half marathon training in a bit more of an upbeat note but I find myself in Week 2 completely knocked out by a virus. I am just beginning to claw my way back to life ...

Running with Fluidity

Posted by Michelle Muldoon on Thu Sep 30th, 2010, 1 comments

As a runner, one of the things I look for in my own running is fluidity.  I want running to feel fluid, not just a series of lifts or swings or stances or whatever else I might have been working on while learning the Chi Running technique.  Of course all of this is necessary in [...]

A ChiRunning Love Letter

I picked up your book 2 months ago. My wife saw you on CNN. I stopped running 15 years ago due to tendonitis in my left leg.

A ChiRunning Love Letter

I wanted to take a minute to thank Danny and everyone involved at Chi Running. On January 1st 2010 I limped off the Buckeye Trail in NE Ohio with another pulled calf muscle, I have to admit I was done running.

A ChiRunning Love Letter

A message of pure gratitude as your book on Chi Running has completely changed my running experience. In only three and a half years I've gone through patellar tendonitis (in both knees), plantar fasciitis, and many other injuries I can't even describe.
