About Hyongok

Hyongok is a certified personal trainer with a holistic approach to fitness that recognizes both the physical and non physical aspects of fitness. Her goals for her clients when training them are, that they  feel more in control of their bodies, can exercise without injury and experience that all important “feel good” sensation. Hyongok’s approach to training focuses on three key elements: functionality, core strength and postural alignment.  Her approach is based on a deep understanding of the workings of the body gained through an intensive practice of Ashtanga and Anasura yoga, ChiRunning® and an extremely active lifestyle. In addition to Yoga and ChiRunning® Hyongok finds time for cross country skiing, hiking and spinning.

Running
For years Hyongok ran regularly, but suffered from discomfort during and after runs as well as injuries. Danny’s book ChiRunning®, changed that, by applying the principles  outlined in the book to her running the discomfort and injuries were eliminated and running became a real joy.  Hyongok would like share the joy of running with you.

Hyongok has competed in 5, 10 and 20 Kilometre races over the past five years and is looking forward to completing a marathon later this year.

Location
Hyongok is based in Montreal but is willing to travel to eastern Canada for workshops. 

Classes
Classes are taught in two formats 2 -2 Hour sessions or 1 half day workshop. The content is the same.

The Classes cover the basic ChiRunning® Technique

  • Introduction to the ChiRunning® method
  • Injury prevention techniques
  • Form drills and exercises
  • Core muscle drills and exercises
  • Upper body and lower body usage
  • How to  conserve energy at any speed
  • Pre run body looseners and post run stretches
  • Videotaping of your running form and personalized feed back
  • Hand out of all material covered in the workshop
  • ChiRunning® uphill and downhill

Clinics
The clinics are held at the week ends and are designed to help runners improve their form. They comprise warm up exercises, followed by a run and cool down stretches. The run will be lead by a certified coach who will review runners form and provide feedback during the run.

Participants must have completed the basic ChiRunning classes. 

Private Coaching
Private coaching sessions are available. We also offer ongoing training programmes. We can work with you to develop a programme.
