What part of Southern California are you in? Me, I'm on the Westside of Los Angeles, near Santa Monica. Also in Santa Barbara from time to time.

Play with ChiRunning concepts at San Diego Marathon Clinic

Postby ozziegontang » Sun Sep 19, 2004 11:36 pm

I'm very interested in ChiRunning and live in San Diego.

If you're interested in playing with the concepts and ideas of ChiRunning on an easy 4 to 6 mile run, I'm running almost every Sunday morning at 8 AM at DeAnza Cove off I-5 and East Mission Bay/Claremont Dr.

I'm not a certified instructor but have adopted the images and concepts of ChiRunning as a great way to train runners to run lightly and gracefully over the surface of the earth.

If you want you can call me to make sure I'm there 619-281-7447. I've been there most Sundays since 1975.

I'm a returning runner (after 10 years away) slowly easing back, trying to teach myself Chi running from the book. I'd LOVE to run with anyone interested in Chi running who's in the Orange County (California) area, to practice my form. Please let me know if you'd like a running partner once a week or so!

Los Angeles outside runs?

Postby AmyRun » Thu Jun 02, 2005 10:40 pm

I live in Sherman Oaks and am going crazy trying to find places for a 3-10 mile run outside on asphalt or dirt (no concrete). I have to be able to push the running stroller. They closed the Hollywood Reservoir and now we are stumped. Anybody got the goods?

I have just started reading the book and I am beginning to apply the Chi Running techniques. I am looking for a female in her 40s to run with on Sat. mornongs for long runs. I am now running 7 miles on my long runs.

I am in the process of training/preparing for the Pacific Shoreline 1/2 marathon in Feb. 2006. If you would like to begin training per the Chi Running technique on Sat. mornings. please let me know. :D

Hey Monica,

I signed up for Steve's coaching thing on Saturdays. My long for last Saturday was 7 and I am increasing one mile each week. I will be doing 8 this weekend. Why don't you think of coming out Saturday to join us/me?

I am 46, mother of 5, just started running abit over a year ago. I have finished 2 marathons, and have finished 4 half marathons.

I am in fontana though and am traveling to Long Beach for this training. Hope you can join us.

There is no such thing as "last". In every race there is an invisible crowd of thousands behind YOU who didn't have the courage to start.
