Ashley Capel, Financial Manager
I currently live outside Little Rock, AR with my husband, 2 daughters, 1 dog, 1 cat, and a plethora of wildlife. When I started working at Chi Living I came to the table with 7 years of experience working in the outdoor industry: the 4-H, LR Marathon, Outward Bound, Parks & Rec., 5k race director, Adventure Race director, and climbing instructor. I recently celebrated my 3rd year anniversary with the company and I look forward to many, many more.
Go back a few years to 2004 and you’ll see how things in my life came full circle. While battling a serious medical condition, I found myself running with my ultra-marathoner husband as a way of relieving stress and freeing my mind. I found that this not only helped me physically, but also mentally and emotionally. I successfully completed a 50k less than a year before having brain surgery. It was during this time that I fell in love with running. Less than 2 years after my brain surgery I got pregnant, which the doctors told me was all but impossible. After her birth I knew I couldn’t go back to an office job and leave my little girl. I set out to find a position working from home and the Chi Living position was literally the first ad I saw. My heart fluttered. I knew this was the perfect fit for me. Katherine and I interviewed with my 2 week old wrapped against my chest. It was a spiritual moment where all life’s previous problems met a fix-all solution for my family. Not only would I get to work from home and be a part of (both) my girls' first years, I've been able to merge my passions for running and numbers into my job.
Life is good to me. I treasure each day I have.
